Robust Range Ambiguous Deceptive Target Suppression Based on Covariance Matrix Reconstruction

When the deceptive targets are in ambiguious range bin but received at same gate with desired target by array, traditional multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is not able to discriminate between them. Based on unique range-dependent beampattern of frequency diverse array (FDA)-MIMO radar, we propose a novel robust mainlobe suppression method based covariance matrix reconstruction form nulls points transmit–receive domain where located. First, proposed collects and noise information reconstruct jammer-noise (JNCM). Then, constructed region, which assumed already be known. The steering vector (SV) estimated dominant eigenvector matrix. Finally, weighting receive beamformer calculated combining reconstructed JNCM SV. By implementing receiving end, can effectively suppressed. simulation results demonstrate that SV mismatches provides signal-to-jamming-plus-noise ratio (SJNR) output close optimal.
